well finaly finnished erecting my greenhouse extension at the allotmenf its now about 17foot long just need to cresote it now its took me 3 days i am shattered ,came home to start lfting dahlias

That is a big greenhouse Rob, if you can divide some of it off and keep it frost free, you could store your dahlia's in there.

te my dahlias in the cupboard under the stairs and the ones in pots in the shed l i am goin to put the extension cost me no more than 20 quid i used 40 inch x 30 inch bus windows the 2ax i got because some one wanted rid of it and the outside of the greenhouse is oil mixed with creasote, i just need some one to give me some parafin, the greenhouse at home i got a gas heater with thermostate for 8quid and my 8x6 at home for 25 so i have done well more prepared than last year, just cose i have the gear doesnt mean ,i will have more success than this year, and my and i am one that likes out for nowt if i cant use it i know some one who can how ever i am now looking at next years stock am gonna put the best dahlia,s at home ,not as many 40 at home and 80 down the allotment with maybe 3dozen chryisanths,

i have wrapped the greenhouse at the allotment its quite warm and dry i am putting some shelves in i have a few dahlias down there they have done well no need to clean them off i have a parafin heater down there but its got a yellow flame and it stinks i think it should be blue and not smell

i have wrapped the greenhouse at the allotment its quite warm and dry i am putting some shelves in i have a few dahlias down there they have done well no need to clean them off i have a parafin heater down there but its got a yellow flame and it stinks i think it should be blue and not smell I must be a bit odd because I love the smell of a paraffin heater. Sounds like you have a great greenhouse.

I gave up on paraffin heaters, as they seemed to want filling (at the wrong time!) and trimming and lots of ventilation because of the moisture they generate. I don't suppose you can install electricity, can you?

I used to have one of the gas heaters in my old greenhouse and it was very expensive to run, a tank only lasted a few days in the winter and at £17 quid a pop i soon gave up on it.

I can only have parafin in mine at the moment, the leccy is a ways down the garden, but I'm working on it, it would be lovely to be able to use my heated propagators there. It does smell and I find a light film over everything come spring

the greenhouse down the allotment is well insulated i have some of my tubers down there on the shelf wrapped in fleece
