There seems to be some confusion and worries over Proboards switching their software to a newer version (v5) and how this will affect us,
First of all some admins of some boards can start making copies of their forums to see how it will look but this isn't neccessary, eventually Proboards when ready will switch all forums over and admins don't have to help in any way with this,
The only slight problems is where forums have used special coding of their own to enhance their forum and luckily we don't have much.
you will notice when visiting other forums some seem to like the blackpool illuminations effects on their front page and also in posts, flashing lights, letters, moving text and all sorts, those forums will have some work to do to keep all that jazz,
All we should need to do is copy the code over that makes the 'Garden friends' banner appear that WF made for us and a few new smilies I added might need copying over although in V5 they have a much bigger and better range of icons and smilies so we will probably have enough using theirs

but to confirm, all old posts and photo's etc will still be here and accessable from the new V5

When v5 eventually launches will I lose my forum data and have to start over?
No, of course not. All of your posts, members, PMs and everything will be converted. The only thing that will really change is that we will take all the codes in your headers and footers out of your headers and footers. We will make you a copy that you can download as you wish. The reason for this is certain codes might break on conversion and we don't want your forum to break as a result.
