Anyone who has ever read Lee Child's books must surely agree that casting Tom Cruise as the eponymous hero Jack Reacher was possibly the worst decision in film making history. A bit like casting Charlie Drake as Tarzan.
It would seem that the prime consideration was box office profits without even a nod to the figure portrayed in the books.
Mind you it is the fairy tale season which could also explain it.

Haven't read the books but have seen lots of complaints about the casting as the character is supposed to be tall & physically imposing I believe, not exactly Tom Cruise! ;D

My husband is a Jack Reacher fan - he wasn't impressed by that casting! Mind you, we don't go to the cinema, so he won't see it anyway (until it's on the TV).

I haven't heard of Jack Reacher. What planet have you been on Cherry?  Next time you are in a book shop or librsry look for the author Lee Child. There are loads of his books featuring Jack Reacher. I count myself a fan having read all of them. |
