Trying to get in the festive mood we went to the local park last night where they were having a 'winter wonderland' event. It was very wet underfoot but not raining & although it was only a small affair it wasn't bad as it was free & the children there seemed to enjoy it. There was an 'elf' cycling like a mad man on a sleigh taking kids for a ride along the main path, very long queue as you only had to donate a small amount in a bucket to the Rotary club I think. There were some stalls with mince pies, teas & for some reason a knitted nativity (didn't Esther make one of those?), a very good Santa, the local brass band & weirdly a snow scene with giant toadstools in it?
