Just potted up the last 'Trelyn Kiwi' which gives me a total of 40 plants to select 24 from. Just waiting on 18 cuttings of 'Lilian Marston' to root and that will be it for me this season.
Must try and weed through the growing area in the next week or so.

Yes I knew halls were struggling early on I even gave them some spare tubers.I don't buy from them anymore I think cruickshanks and station house are cheaper.I had an email yesterday off sion from station house to say mine are on there way. I've got a few plants to send to Sion.....Ryecroft Magnum....the tubers I gave him didn't produce anything. He says he has loads of cuttings of Goldcrest that have just rooted, everything is way behind. Think they may be having a fair bit of last minute business as lots of people are ordering because they haven't got the cuttings they normally have.

The money will go towards the price of the venue for the september show and the late chrysanth show in november and prize money moonlight. We have a great little society with 30 plus members with 5/6 showing dahlias at national level and 3/4 showing chysanths at national level. We also have members showing gladioli ,carnations and orchids at a high level.

Wow! Respect. I hadn't thought of the cost of venues for the shows either, plus I guess insurance for the trophies and cups. It is good to think about the bigger picture.

Yes Rosemary had my order for me and then we ended up buying more plants from the sale as at £1.50 each they were good value as very healthy plants. We realised we didn't have a small cactus as have no ruskin myra this year so ended up getting Trelyn Kiwi and Ruskin Andrea, we also got Gurtla Twilight, Kenora Jubilee and Willos violet, not sure where we end up putting them all what with Robs 250 chrysanths

I am interested to find out what your recommended feeding regime is. I plan on using Groworganic in the planting hole and then a general feed until the end of June. What do you guys use please. Thanks.

I use chook pellets mixed in some mpc/loam mix for the hole.....then nothing for a good month to get the plant to reach out for nourishment....I then use any high potash feed...tomorite; Chempak; Vitax.....whatever I have handy....sometimes I will give them a foliar feed (if the weather is very warm....ha...ha...)

I don't actually feed mine with anything. Nor do I water them once they are established. However, my growing area is mulched in about late June with as much fresh horse manure/straw/wood chips as I can get. Every time it rains (and we get a lot of that in South Wales even in a 'normal' summer) some of the nutrient is washed out of the mulch and down to the plants.
It has worked well for me but it may not be to everyone's taste.

I use chempac 2 mid June to mid July, chempac 3 mid July to mid August, then chempac 4 mid August to end of season. I feed using a sprayer on the hose pipe.
