In my opinion the best exhibit I put up at harrogate this year,3 vases of 3 dahlias from the top joan walker, marys jomanda, hillcrest divine, the marys jomanda scored 28 and the total score for the 3 vases was 78 points it was considered for best exhibit in division c. I like the look of Hillcrest Divine, very nice indeed !! How many up do you grow it DC and presumably a double stop? I am looking for a replacement for Dikara Superb, which again the centers dont impress me. Are you likely to have any surplus tubers you would be willing to sell me ? Thanks Mark

Its the Leeds Paxton show tomorrow, will have a look to see if there is anything worth taking there, when I go down to the allotment this afternoon. The last time I attended this show was back in 2010 where I finished second in the 5 vase Championship. There is no way I can enter that this year, but if I have a vase of anything I will take that just to let them know they will have some competition in the Championship in 2014.

I arrived at the Leeds Paxton Show this morning at 8.15 left at 9.15 Stages 2 vases of Small Decoratives, 2 vases of poms and 1 vase of Garden Friends. There were only 2 entries in the Collarette's Class when I left but there was still 2.5 hours left for staging. The exhibitor who beat me in 2010 in the 5 vase Championship was staging next to me, he said he was asking about me, he said i was told you were having problems with your house. told him all sorted and I will be back next year. When I left his was the only entry in the Championship Class, there were not many dahlia's entered. On the other bench they were struggling for room for the Chrysanthemum's. Vegetables, should be good the National Vegetable Society, West Yorkshire Division hold their Annual Show jointly with Leeds Paxton. Will take the camera with me this afternoon.

Today a first for Garden Friends. The ladies loved the colour of this one they were telling me. Click on the pic. Did not do too well with the poms. Only third place today. The two vases of Brenda T finished first and second. Brenda T was given the best vase in show. Just disappointed Leeds Paxton stopped giving dahlia medals this year, other wise this would have received the Bronze Medal
