Fire away. I don't always follow other peoples' advice. Sometimes I like to find my own way. Naturally by doing that I sometimes get lost but as I am still here I must have found my way again. As you mention fuchsia cuttings. I think my first two got caught in the sun and frizzled up a bit but they are still showing signs of life in their coffee jar propagators so we shall see what we shall see. All the others are fine as they have had a newspaper over the jars to shade them.

Hannah Beth sweet pea in bloom, didn't know what colour it was going to be as I couldn't find a photo online but it is a lilac pink shade. Fairy Pink Wellies fancied wearing it in her hair Hoola Style.

You have flowers. I haven't even got side shoots yet. Just shows the value of autumn sowing compared with spring.

Don't flatter SP Moonlight. However, I have to agree that he knows a lot and has a common sense approach to plants and gardening.

Just come in. I realised that I had left the camera in the greenhouse. It is pitch black (not that exciting considering that it was about quarter to 11 when I left the house) with my lantern and my mobile. Yesterday when I popped down after the girls had gone to bed, I had managed to pull the greenhouse door off of its hinges. So sent emergency "Help" texts to HH with one hand while my other hand propped the door up.
Anyway camera collected. Time to go ask questions about my
After this post only 20 posts left in my Diary bit sad really. If I started a new one I'd have to think of a new name.
Purple wellies tiny steps part 2, doesn't really sound fab.
As they say tiny steps but you find me dragging my feet towards the big 1,000.

Why not continue until the next 1,000 posts? I can't see why 1,000 has to be the end. Did your text for help bring reinforcements?

Just watched Pirate Yellow Wellies skip down the garden, glanced away and then back and saw her peg it back in as fast as she could. It has just started pouring. She was very good and went back outside (wearing her coat) (my suggestion) to move her sister's skateboard because it was getting wet.
Very funny but now I am left with a daughter who is moaning because she can't go outside and play.
Pirate as I know that you are reading this, No it would not be funny if is snowed right now.

I've haven't a clue how I managed to do it but I managed to ring my best friend whilst potting up tomatoes and singing "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you....." We laughed about it when she rang me back but as she pointed out most people are not potting up tomatoes when it is nearly 10 o'clock.
I'm in the middle of potting the tomatoes up. Fairy Pink Wellies has asked her teacher if she wanted a tomato plant and she said yes to a BIG one. Now just a question of which..... hmm. I need to make quite a few tomato decisions. I need to decide exactly what I am growing and where. I have 6 tomato plants of a variety that I can't help but think of as ugly. (sorry tomatoes but at least I am not saying it in front of them) don't feel that I can give them away to some poor unsuspecting individual but then I don't want 6 myself.
I potted up a little trough with self watering tray with French Marigolds, pansys and a couple of cells of lobelia. In theory it is going to live in the greenhouse to keep the tomatoes company and attract lots of bees (hopefully they will be busy bees and ignore me when I am in the greenhouse).

This time next week I will probably be worrying about the show.

Stressed out, need to make a kite for the show next Sunday. Well I am not making it, the girlies are. It needs to be a max. of 45cms.
My sticks are not bendy enough, I don't have anything suitable for cutting them and I can't find examples online small enough.
I don't have any emoticons to describe how I am feeling right now.
Daddy is making scones with Fairy and I am supposed to be assisting Pirate with her kite.

The honey and coconut scones that Fairy made under the supporting eye of Daddy smell delicious. Pirate has 2 sticks, 4 elastic bands, garden tie wire and grease proof paper.

Pirate has gone upstairs to show Daddy and sister her kite. Last time Pirate was upset because her daffodils were not 'realistic' I hope that she won't be unhappy when she sees other peoples.
