When did Sammy last have a feed? Geranium I am going to do a Sammy update soon but he does look better in himself. I've rescued him from the girls' toilet (nb Not literally) and I am keeping an eye on him downstairs.
Got more news on the dahlia front exciting stuff including presents from my Dad.

.... leading to my Dahlia Garden. Well it might be small but it is perfectly formed (with a few dying weed-killered weeds and a flower pot in the background.)

View from the greenhouse
Now if you move the big pot in the way you could say...
"I spy with my little eye..... 4 spaces."

Moonlight by day...
and Eastwood Moonlight last night.
Pressie from Dad, so that I could fill my last 4 holes. (Well it would be a shame to do all that digging and Rotavatoring to have those 4 spaces.)
He also gave me Peach Delight, Ruskin Bride and Red Balloon.
What a responsibility, I so, so, so hope that I don't kill it. (or the other 3)

Hopefully he will come round when the dahlias are in bloom. My wife isn't exactly keen on dahlias because, 'They attract earwigs' but she didn't mind when they were winning first prizes at the autumn flower show I don't have any dahlias in the garden currently and not as many sweetpeas as I used to grow, likewise daffodils but am now thinking of growing more fuchsias and possibly coleus. Have to wind down a little as you get older unfortunately. Unlike Sammy, my sparkle has diminished a bit

Have to wind down a little as you get older unfortunately. Unlike Sammy, my sparkle has diminished a bit I understand what you are saying but other than when you mention your age in your posts, you never come across as 'old' more a case of knows from a lot of experience what you are talking about. Every time I walk down to my dahlias I see the upside down water bottles that you suggested using as cane toppers and it makes me smile because I think of you and all of my other garden friends. You have so much to offer. Even Olympic athletes get slower as they grow older. I like to think of age as a sliding scale. Just when you reach the top end of the scale, realise well actually I'm not old yet... old is when I reach.... Besides I think that you are about the same age as my Dad and he's not old yet either.
PS I've got a question ask about my fuchsia cuttings and I think I won't like your advice.
