Further photographic evidence of my madness:
Steve said (in the tomato thread):
In my defence I don't normally snuggle up with random veg and watch TV. I took the measuring ring photo on top of my laptop and just hadn't got round to putting it away. (Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it)
If all goes well enough my tomatoes are going to be my veggie entry for my local town Novice cup.
I have decided that I am not going to do the Novice cup next year (Until the wind changes direction). It has been good for me because it has got me attempting to grow a lot of things that I would never have done otherwise. It has been good because I've got my 1st 2 shows under my belt. I already know that there is almost no room to set up your blooms in their vases. Really need to have a way of making a Plan B because I need to spread out. The 3rd of the town show being the dahlia show was always going to be my own personal biggie (Never dreamt that I would be gearing up for my 2nd dahlia show). I'm excited not nervous. I know that I have said it before but I think that both the 2 town shows have been more competitive than the dahlia mini that I have just done. My understanding is that is how the mini dahlia show works. It is social event, not pistols at dawn. nb Don't quote me on that. I'm expecting the biggie to be much more serious. I was so poorly last time. It really was touch and go as to whether or not I could stand up without being sick.
Going back to the town show, as I am sure that I have said right from the beginning, I want to win the Novice dahlia / chrysanthemum single bloom class. The Novice Cup was pie in the sky but I am honest I still really want to win that particular class.
But
If I have any blooms good enough, I will also enter the non-Novice dahlia classes. If I don't win anything, I will still have the option of competing in the Novice dahlia class next year.
Most of that probably reads as clear as mud but it makes sense in my head. (Well until the wind changes direction)
PS It's not obvious from the tomato photo but you can see a yellow piece of paper with a post it note on top - underneath the yellow paper, that white shape in the corner is my pom measuring ring and underneath that is my miniature ring.

That looks too good to eat
