Hi Moonlight, What the one right in the middle of the last picture the mauve one with a yellow centre lovely dahlias and pictures. Oops that's the 2nd time recently I've got the totally wrong end of the stick!
It is actually Mary's Jomanda. It is a shame that it came through too late to do anything with it. I have had 3 blooms come through like that on different parts of the plant. I am going to try and save the tuber and just see if anything comes through next year.

In this photo the dark purple ball is my Downham Royal. In front and to the left the shorter plant is Franz Kafka, the next plant along that row is Willow's Violet pom, much taller than Franz. Behind Franz is my Mary's Jomanda, with it's rogue lilac flower. (Next to Mary's Jomanda is Jomanda but I can't spot it amongst my little Dahlia jungle.) Behind my ball row is my Weston row and you can see Spanish Dancer peeking out on the left, you can see some Weston Flaming flowers. Happy Halloween at the deep orange ones at the back.
As you can see that Mary's Jomanda is huge, just one plant as is the Jomanda next to it.

Been down to the garden this morning and attempted to get to my greenhouse. Spider Web blockade. Turned round and came back up, think it is a good time for breakfast...
Ambrosia anyone?

Ambrosia anyone?[/font] Tough it's all gone. Time to finish my coffee and upset some mean looking spiders. I could imagine them as Bouncers of a Night Club. "Oi you! Buzz off! You ain't coming in! Buzz off or you will regret it!"
When I was a child I remember helping shift hay / straw bails. I sat down and a spider with very long legs ran across my cheek. (Right cheek - v.clear memory that one). Horrible. Here's hoping that they don't get too angry with me. I would hate that to happen again.

I am sure that nobody would be shocked when I say that I have been looking at my town's how schedule.
I think I'll have enough poms and at one point even thought I might manage to scrape together a group of 5 large poms but no 3 max.
I should have enough Downham Royals for the vase of 3. As always the emphasis is on the word should.
I am really hoping that I have managed to grow my Pirates down to a miniature. I would love it if they were not oversized. My plan B is actually Spanish Dancer. I have been working through the plant looking for stems that could be removed. For example, I don't need 8+ seed heads, I don't have the space and none of them might have any. I've left about 3 but the rest have gone. I've left some with the centres open for the bees but I have removed a lot of blooms that are just past their best. Anything with a slight bend in the stem have also been removed. I am hoping that this will mean that everything left will have more room. So hopefully, maybe I manage to get 1 grow big enough for me to put in the single small cactus / semi class.
I even thought that I might have an outside chance with the medium semi cactus class with my Staleen Condessa but when I went out with my string and scissors realised there is no chance on that one. They have got loads of caterpillars. I would have to be gifted at petal collage because I would need to pluck and stick loads of petals, to eventually get to one whole decent un nibbled one.
