I leave some in the garden to grow bigger before I pot them up, then just pull out the rest, they are slow though

Yesterday's sun was just perfect to open my crocuses and other flowers. It was the first sun since February 14th, and it was lovely. 'Ruby Giant' 'Spring Corner' - can't remember which crocuses these are. 'Blue Pearl' planted with Viola 'Antique Shades' in my gate trough. 'Prince Claus' in my blue pot Blue pot in full bloom. Anemone blanda - one of the many in the corner. One tiny Hepatica flower caught my eye. It's H. transsivanica 'Blue Jewel'. All that because the sun put in an appearance! ;D

Thanks, Cherry - no sun today, which is a shame, because the crocus have all closed up again. Rosie, I have H. nobilis as well - two plants, both blue. I'd like a white one! I can't resist Hellebores. I have one (temporarily) in a pot which is just beginning to flower - H. x ericsmithii 'Snow Love'.

Thank you. I have it in my biggest blue pot as a temporary measure, to replace the Pieris that died. I want to plant a dwarf pink azalea in the pot, but I still have to track down the 'right' one, as I'd like dark leaves. Fussy, eh? Then this Hellebore will be moved up to its friends under the apple tree.

Have you ever looked at the Trehane Nursery list? The prices are astronomical, but oh my, the Hepaticas are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. It's worth a drool, but hide your credit card before you look. Sorry Rosie - forgot to say - yes, please post photos of your Hellebores!

Good to see it is all coming to life G. We knew it would as nature is a wonderful thing especially with a little help on the side. Here in S. Wales just over the water from you there are signs of new growth everywhere but no doubt there is still some severe weather yet to come.

I'm afraid you're right, Sp. That day was the only sunny one. Since then it's been grey, cold and miserable here. Roll on spring!

I thought you might like to see a few photos of my garden all spruced up ready for visitors. First the large bed in the side garden. The top border. Sadly, the Philadelphus isn't in bloom yet. The far corner of the wall border. Part of the wall border. Lastly, I love the self-sown Aquilegia and Ox-eye daisies growing in the gravel at the side of the carpark.
