I cut most of my 'indoor' tomatoes down and left only a few leaves and the trusses worth keeping. I tidied my patio tomato plants and put them inside a perspex shelter. They have lots of cherry tomatoes and I hope they'll ripen quicker in there. I had to reposition some of my succulents to make room for them.
I'm glad you had some successes Andrew

Begun putting the leaf mould in bags so that I can move the ready compost into the space, then I can turn over the new compost heap and have a free space for the autumnal leaf drop.

As the tomatoes on the balcony were planted much later this year & as we had a few cold weeks afterwards most of my plants are quite behind were they should be by now! I have 3 or 4 tall ones but about 9 or 10 dwarf ones. All have fruit but unless we get some warmer weather I can see they will have to be picked & brought inside so they can ripen!

took the ripening tomatoes off the outside plants, the blight has arrived but hoping I can save just a few more before I get rid of the plants. Picked beans and took leaves off tomato plants in the greenhouse, which seem to be blight free so far

The winds have pushed out of alignment our Sorbus aria lutescens so we had to go and buy some really big posts to strap it up . Painted them. Moved some more of the leaf mould, but pain got in the way of doing any more. Oh and I planted a Helenium last week, found today that it was completely leafless, slugs love them. Moved it to a, hopefully, less sluggy area.

pulled all the outside tomato plants out, saved what might ripen but blight had taken hold and they had to go, the 2 in the greenhouse seem to be ok so far. I had bought one of the tomato growhouses for outside but to be honest it was a total waste of money, didn't hold up, the metal was flimsy and bent easily, the cover held up so will look to making a new frame for it next year

We managed to stand the Sorbus more upright with three heavy duty posts. No idea how long it will last. ****** hard going.

I watered & fed the plants on the balcony & in the house. I've started to bring in a few plants & put them in the kitchen window or on the shelf below.
This morning I also watered & weeded the planters around the cash machine. I had intended to upload some photos but for some reason the photo upload service doesn't seem to be working very well - at least for me! I tried to upload the first one but it only uploaded 50% so I cancelled it & tried again - no difference! I'll try again tomorrow.

did some weeding, gathered all the pond weed up, some for compost and some for recycle bags, repotted some plants that I will be growing on until next spring

Shovelled some more s...er compost. Done about 2/3 of it now. Potted up a few dozen more Hellebore seedlings and some Aruncus aesthusifolius. Don't know why, we don't need any more of either. Completed the support structure for the Sorbus aria so that should stand up straight for a while. Pain stopped the fun.

I still can't add any photos! I chose one & uploaded it but it only got to 30% & stopped there so I cancelled it & tried again. This time it seemed to upload correctly but I was left with a spinning "wheel"! So after waiting a while I just cancelled it. No point in waiting for a minute or more when it's not going to show up!
I would have like to upload the first photo I took this afternoon of a rose one of my brothers gave us for our Golden Wedding Anniversary at the beginning of the month. The first flower has opened today! The rose is called, appropriately, 'Golden Wedding'!
I thought I would make one last attempt at uploading a photo & this time it worked!

Sorry it's a bit blurry but it was difficult to get a picture with the sun on the balcony during the afternoon. Perhaps tomorrow morning, before 11am, I will try & get a better picture. The trouble is that with the sunlight on a flower it "bleaches" all the colour out of it & though I tried to fine a spot with a little shade it wasn't easy getting the picture!

the new shoots on the Phyllostachys nigra have also started flowering, so cut everything back for now, when the plants around it die back I will attempt to get the root out, soo looks as though I've lost it, an opportunity for something new now also did some deadheading
