I've been continuing to get the bottom of my garden ready for the decking to go down (whenever the man will get around to doing it for me !)
There are three cold frames to move and I moved one yesterday - they're up on bricks to save me bending (bad back) and carrying the bricks and then the cold frame was rather difficult, but I got it done ... eventually !
There's an awful mess where the cold frame was but it's on the patio now and after I tidied around it, the place didn't look too bad.
Bottom of garden where the cold frame was and where the new decking will be :-
Cold frame in new position on patio :-
Plus clothes line
You can see the frame is full of succulents - I moved them there from a perspex shelter at the side of my old garage, I can get to them easier now, for watering etc.
The shelter is down a big step and my knees make it difficult to go down it. After the new decking is down I'll have to see about that step.

More shovelling!. Dug over the broad bean patch, limed it and added fertiliser ready for the surviving Kale plants. Cabbage whites playing havoc this year despite the plants being well sprayed.

Dead-headed & did a bit of cutting back on a massive buddleia. The bees loved it because they can see the secondary flowers now & we're buzzing afterwards! 😊

Neighbour and I have removed some over hanging Holly and a big dead branch from a Beech. He went up the ladder and used his little chain saw. He really enjoys doing that sort of thing. I never ask him to, but he jumps right in. Great man. Shredded the Holly we cut down and delivered a barrow load of logs to our neighbour. He is over 80 by the way and as fit as a dotchers bug. Neighbour on the other side delivered a huge box of his apples too, so baked apple here we come and Boss is making Apple mint jelly

sadly nothing done in the garden. I have been dog and cat sitting for my daughter and the dog has kept me busy entertaining her. The cats have bells on their collars and I could hear them padding around most of the last 2 nights. Sigh! I am rather tired today. or in the way my girls used to say when they were little, tie-odd. Is it just us but do any one else still use words/mispronunciations from their children. other example is Flough-eey for flowers. flough like plough.

Try swapping the first two letters of each word. Is this some kind of game you've invented??? I've certainly heard of "Butcher's dog" & that's what came to mind when I first read your post! But then I started to search for it on line & forgot about it!
There are links on the page to other common expressions we use as well! Worth having a look if anyone's interested!

The Rev. William Spooner was notorious for mixing up words like that, hence that kind of phrase is now referred to as a 'spoonerism'. I often do it for comic effect.
