I took advantage of the (almost) dry day & absence of gale force winds to get out in the garden & planted out the pack of Red Sun shallots that had been lurking in the kitchen into a container as the ground is still sodden & then cut back a lot of the dead stems, weeds & foliage around the pond as new growth is coming up now. The pond is full of frogspawn but there was no sign of the frogs while I was down there & it's even muddier than before now I've been stomping around in my wellies, still lots to cut back & weed in the borders.

Sowed more seeds and pricked out loads in the Greenhouse. All seedlings that germinated are doing very well on the heated table which is now full. Now its time to bring some seedlings from that cosy warm space into the cold to grow on

Wow, you have been busy ladybird. I plan to get some beetroot and pea's in tomorrow in my greenhouse. I've just potted up a few heuchera's, and fed the birds today.

Checked over all the seedlings yesterday all are coming along fabulously. Sowed some more toms, lettuce and aubergines too. On Friday I sowed my Dad's wildlife area.

The weather was O.K. here so I carried on weeding & cutting back at the end of the garden & around the pond. Still lots of frogspawn in the pond & I found a couple of hedgehog poops on the lawn so put the camera out last night & we have at least 2 hedgehogs visiting who looked quite small & hungry, they pottered around the garden throughout the night from about 11pm to 5.45am.

I hope the hedgehogs will be all right SueA, maybe there will be more food around for them as the months progress. I haven't seen one for a number of years.

spent the day, cutting back tying in, pulling weeds and clearing debris in the top borders I think I've lost quite a few plants having the fence done, but I've lightly dug over and give it a bit more time, I'm not too worried as I now have quite a few replacements. This morning I've been doing more, found some begonia corms which although have been out all winter seem fine, so I've dug them up and put in compost in the greenhouse, also dug out some hellebore seedlings and potted up
