I squished my first lily beetle of the year Ugh! I don`t think I`v ever seen a lily beetle, perhaps its too cold for them here. I wonder if Rosie has seen any up there in cold Scotland ?

I sowed some seeds - tomatoes, Gardener's delight, Alicante and Roma and also a cherry type one, can't remember the name. Also some seeds of a thing called Cucumelon, don't know what they're going to be like, Also some peppers, and several flowers - Sweet Peas, Rudbeckia, L Daisies, etc, and Coleus. They are all in the propagators now. Also I started to tidy the patio, with the background noise of next door's "music" until I started banging things around, and then they turned it down.
My sister in law asked me just yesterday if I was growing cucumelon, she was interested to taste them. I`d not heard of them so it would be nice to hear how your grow and taste Eli and I might grow them next year .

Once again I probably sowed my tomatoes and peppers too early as they all need potting up which I started to day today BUT I`m being really ruthless this year and only keeping 1 or 2 of each cordon varieties . Lots of the bush ones though as they can take all the space on the green house benches later.

Hi all. It has been some time since I have been on the forum. I really lost my growing mojo last year due to a long term bad back and it has taken 3 weeks on and off to finally be able to say today my garden is now back to how it was in 2018. I have spent this evening re reading Derek Brook's Getting started on the allotment book to remind myself of some bits and pieces and to plan my planting. Last month I dug up turf and create 3 new veg beds so this has helped me to get the gardening bug again. Small steps

Started to plant up a new border that we've created where a conifer use to be. Potted on some more seedlings too.

I grew cucamelons a few years ago Eli & ladybird, they were tiny bite-size little cucumbers not much bigger than a grape, crisp with a melon type flavour, easy to grow & nice added to salads. I didn't grow them again though as I thought the size of the crop wasn't worth the space, I think someone else on here has grown them as well, might have been steve?

I took lots of Pelargonium cuttings from the cuttings I had last year. I have a tray full of them and another two pots also, and I hope last year's cuttings will grow into nice bushy plants this summer now that they've been pruned I haven't got any of the main plants left, they have all died.
I also planted a Eucomis bulb in a pot.

Potted up my new blueberry into a container, top dressed the azalea and acer that belonged to mum. Finished the little raised bed in the greenhouse ready for tomatoes and filled with compost. Sorted out some veg seed and tomato plants for someone in the village which were left on the front wall for her to collect, after that I had a bit of a lazy day

Did you like the cucamelons lesley? I couldn't remember who it was & whether you liked them, I thought they were O.K. but a bit too small to be worth growing unless you had room for a few plants. I received 12 mini calibrachoa calita plug plants from You Garden in the post so I planted them up in cell trays & planted up 2 tubs with 3 Winston seed potatoes in each, lots more potatoes still chitting in the kitchen though. Sat & enjoyed a nice cuppa on the patio in the sun with O.H. in the afternoon!

Lovely view of your garden SueA and I'm glad you enjoyed a cuppa in the sunshine. I also had a capachino and KitKat on the patio this afternoon
I moved a big hardy Fuchsia that was in the way, I tidied and weeded a little corner, and in another little corner I moved a Diarama and planted a new climbing rose Golden Showers, to grow up a trellis. It looks messy because my back was too bad to sweep it and to move the things lying about. I'll have to do it tomorrow. I also smashed up an old wardrobe that's been standing outside for many months, waiting to be taken to the tip but it will have a longer wait now. It had become rotten in the rain and was easy to do ,so at least it is in pieces and stacked out of the way now.
