Sorry some of your plants got hit by late frost SueA I hope they recover. The new leaves on my Ilex Golden King have also been scorched and are now black but everything else is all right.

that's such a shame SueA it's been really unusually cold Started on the front of the house, weeded all the wall, cut back the Bottlebrush which had started attacking passers by, pulled out all the weeds along the pavement, 18 months of neglect was really showing, more to do up the front path. Hoping to have all the wooden 'walls' replaced in the near future when he can get the materials, I really need to whip the front into shape

All I did was water everything again & put a couple of trays of plants out into the greenhouse & then pick off all the dead leaves on the potatoes.

started at the top of the garden weeding, pruning off dead bits and tying in, then the afternoon watered all I'd done, it's so dry

Just watering here again & moving a few plants from the kitchen into the greenhouse. Baked a peach & almond tart in the afternoon. The hedgehog was out early last night, pottering around on the 'lawn' at 9.15pm while it was still light, looked fine & was trotting around foraging, I'm wondering if it has babies somewhere & was taking a break from them.

Pricked out & potted up in cell trays my hyssop & Ox-Eye daisy seedlings, keeping them in the kitchen for now but moved more plants out into the greenhouse & watered everything in there.

repotted some of the plants that needed it, raked all the dead out of the grass, needs reseeding, but it's too dry at the moment, planted out a couple of plants, then took Dylan to the woods

Sowed some radish seeds in the veg. trough in front of the shed, watered everything & fed the wildlife. It's that time of year when there's a constant thump against the windows of 'brownies', the baby starlings who want to fly through the house! It makes me jump every time & this morning there was one who bumped into the window, shook himself & then kept fluttering up against the glass convinced he would get through eventually!

I sowed free seeds of Aquilegia and Nepeta and potted up 3 Daphne Mezereum which came home in my pocket from East Ruston Old Vicarage last July. That makes 4 varieties of Daphne. I also planted up 2 bush type outdoor tomatoes which my son’s partner gave to me.

I`ve been very Lazy for the past few days, just sat about indoors, thinking, planing, drinking tea . That's all the time it took for more pesky snails to come back and feast on the remaining 3 climbing beans I had planted out but not to worry I have loads more. The greenhouse plants also suffered so they have had a good watering and all now need to get out asap. I found several new large pots of peters ( He had been planning to grow his veg in them ) and really large hanging baskets and wall baskets , no liners so will have to put my thinking cap on . I have tomato seeds to sow today, rather late I know but I "won" them for Mr. Fothergills trial and they have emailed to say they know it late but sow them anyway.

weeded down the front path and repainted the little fence, only had enough for one side the other will have to wait until I can get more, started taking off loose paint on steps and wall ready to repaint them but it got too hot out there, watered all the garden, now we've had overnight rain, typical

I did the same grindle - watered everything & it rained during the night, it needs a bit more rain though. I received a pack of 5 little 'Starburst' chrysanths from Woolmans in the post so I potted them up & put them in the greenhouse & sowed a few Pak Choi seeds in a cell tray in the greenhouse as well.
