Started planting up some of the containers but when I got to the hanging baskets \i ran out of plants and compost so looks like another visit to GC. Sorted out some cuttings compost ready for when I get round to taking some cuttings and more watering everywhere.

Everything is drying out here too, and things are starting to wilt. The soil is like dry dust.
I had some plastic shelving in one of my Perspex shelters at the side of the 'garage', and I had some metal Wilko shelving outside and it was becoming rusty, so I swapped them around. I put lots of cuttings etc on the plastic shelves now outside, and my propagators on the metal ones now inside the shelter. There's still some tidying to do around the shelves but it will have to be done tomorrow (if I feel like it )

sweetpea I have cuttings of some shrubs - Lonicera, Euonymus, Indigofera, Box, and Bay leaf cuttings, and some perennials - Sanguisorba, Geraniums, Ophiopogon, Omphalodes, Aquilegia seedlings, and Sage Thyme and Lemongrass I sowed two years ago. Also some Fuchsias and Griselina, and London Pride, and Trifolium rubens and Filipendula (but not the wild one) and maybe some others I can't remember ...
Ah yes, and Pulmonaria too ...

Thanks sweetpea and grindle, yes they take some time to weed and water. I also have three cold frames full of cuttings, and soon I'm going to take cuttings of the Fuchsia varieties I haven't got cuttings of . In the cold frames are Pelargonium cuttings I took last year, and cuttings from those cuttings that I took this year, and also Penstemon Iresine Bilbergia and Osteospermam cuttings, and some Bay leaf cuttings. I've given some away to people walking along the road at the back of my garden, and they bring me plants in return

Just watered everything again here, put a couple of watering cans of water in the pond & put water in the water butt nearest the pond so I can use that to top it up again today or tomorrow, too hot to do anything else so I baked some brownies - the cakes not the junior Girl Guides!

I repotted a few house plants and watered some things in the garden. It was too hot to do much else.

I got a collection of 12 salvias in the post from Hayloft which I'd completely forgotten ordering so I had to find some cell trays to pot them up in for now. Also dead-headed a lot of the roses & cut back some nettles around the wild area around the ivy tree which were getting a bit out of their 'zone' & tied in a few stray stems of the Kiftsgate rose there which were trying to take my head off on their way across the 'path' to escape over the fence! Put another 12 watering cans of water from the water butt into the pond, the 3 frogs who were sunbathing in there can now go for a swim.

Good job you got the visit in before the weather changed grindle or you might have been stood out in the garden under umbrellas! I just emptied out & replanted 2 hanging baskets for by the front door & watered everything again, hopefully might only have to water in the greenhouse/mini greenhouse today, oh & the hanging baskets as they're in the shelter of the roof.
