actually managed a morning in the garden, started by giving the shed a bit of a tidy, then the greenhouse, sowed a few seeds to start indoors, swept and raked a lot of soggy leaves off borders, started cutting some of the dead off perennials, it was nice to just be outside

Same here grindle although I had to wait until afternoon after the showery drizzly stopped & the sun came out. I pruned more off the roses so that I could walk along the path between the border & the garage & tidied more dead foliage from the borders, still plenty more to do.

Got out in the garden again for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon & carried on pruning bits off the roses & clearing leaves & dead foliage off the borders so that I can see the spring bulbs, lots are coming through now. Even found a few ladybirds waking up amongst the leaf litter (looks like a little snail shell next to it as well)

had to take down a clematis as I was having a bit of new fence put up, he replaced a couple of rotten panels and also put another panel up to close the gap with next door, the clematis will be ok but can't put it back until I've painted, and for that I'll need a dry day

I decided to tackle the pond yesterday as it was very overgrown & spent a couple of hours hacking things down & fishing weeds, leaves & roots out of the water - I stank of filthy pond mud when I finished but at least you can see the water now & the 2 frogs I found looked happy!

I pruned a clematis and grape on the patio. I have clusters of sleepy ladybirds hiding on stems among leaves.

I carried on tidying around the pond & topped the water up with about 7 or 8 watering cans from a water butt, pruned a couple more roses & watered all the hanging baskets & pots in the greenhouse.

This afternoon I've been in the greenhouse potting up some rose cuttings I look in early Autumn into individual pots. It was so nice to get something done outside without feeling cold.

I agree Andrew it's great not feeling cold. Today I took some bulbs out of the cold frames in readiness for some Fuchsias when they start waking up. And I watered some herbs I had in a perspex shelter.

I've been in the garden most of the day, I cut back some Clematises, and Fuchsias, Took all my 'tender' Fuchsias down to the shelter, they need light and ventilation. Cut back some shrubs, and vacuumed inside the shelter (well, half way along it lol)
