Pricked out some more tomato seedlings in the kitchen, the ones in the greenhouse are doing well so the fleece has kept them nice & warm. Had to water the hanging baskets & lots of the pots here as well, bone dry. I drew a rough plan of the garden for a Facebook project yesterday as well, not to scale but it gives an idea of where everything is.

Your garden looks bigger than I imagined SueA ...
I did some weeding, and repotted cuttings and roots of plants I'd propagated last year. Was glad to find 4 nice Prunellas - the 'main' one in the garden has died off. Took some cuttings of a white Lavender. Watered all the bulbs in pots and the Fuchsias in the cold frames.

I'm not very good at getting the scale right Eli! It's about 28ft wide & 70ft. long. Mowed the lawn & enjoyed the sun yesterday. Watered lots of the pots again.

Weeded lots of the borders, got rid of a lot of Ivy, Split and replanted a variegated grass, and moved some Snowdrops in the green. Relocated a Parahebe. Did some watering.

weeded the border at the side of the house, can't believe I redid it over last year, the ground was like rock, gave it all a good water and will add more compost this week

I decided to repaint the ornamental gates on the lawn, they're meant to look old & slightly rusty & were bought that way but the rust had started to take over & they were looking very flaky so I scrubbed them down with a wire brush. Only had time to put a coat of Hammerite textured Highland green on the gateposts so will do the gates today & put a second coat on the posts. Had to water all the baskets & lots of the pots again here as well, very dry with the sun & wind still.

I painted the gates & put a second coat on the gateposts. When I was shutting the greenhouse up around 8pm last night Alfie the dog next door was barking on the other side of the fence & I heard a bit of shuffling behind the greenhouse. There was a huge hedgehog sitting there & not moving so I carried on & put the hedgehog food out etc. & then went back to see if it was O.K. , it still hadn't moved so I decided to check it out. I got a box & put some gardening gloves on & picked it up to check it, it curled up so I couldn't check it's face but it was a healthy round whopper with no obvious injuries or ticks so I laid the box on it's side by the food & when I went in it shot out of the box & into the border - probably wondering what all the fuss was about!

I like the "lawn(Ha Ha) " At the minute I`m trying to put together a picture of my garden to scale using graft paper on a large board, So I can move things around without "actually " moving them as I waste so much time chopping and changing.

Yesterday I dismantles the long narrow raised bed frame at the back of the garden, I`ll have to rethink that . Watered in the greenhouse with a hose as the seedling as more robust now. I remade one of the raised beds just in front of my new sitting area making it a little broader and shorter . That will be for flowers .

I was securing a support for a Clematis and broke three nice long branches in the process I wanted to get rid of an old dead stump of an American Pillar rose, and it was so hard that I had to saw through it. I sowed Carrots Parsnips, and Spring Onions in my raised bed. My Turnips Radishes and lettuses are coming up nicely, and also quite a few of the annual flowers. I took some of them out of the propagators in case they went stringy - they're in a bit of shade. I got rid of a lot of Ivy that had grown over a wall.

I put a second coat of paint on the ornamental gates while the birds were all pottering around watching me. Watered all the baskets & some of the pots again.
