Decided to trim the hedges and shrubs by path but naturally the hedge trimmer decided to go on strike. Normally its very good. Ended up using the hand shears which was hard graft for me. Used the lawnmower to 'Hoover' upmuch of the pine needles from the large conifer and trim a few weeds at the same time. Just got to cut the actual grass now. Actually it is mainly clover rather than grass but it is green and gives the bees something do.

wow SueA congratulations I've been destroying my garden As I will be relining the pond soon, this has to go, it's a real mess there so it will be nice to replant it this is before this is how much I did yesterday didn't get time to do much more as I had the car serviced and they told me both front tyres needed replacing, so had to go to Tavi to get replacements, didn't want to take any chances with a long journey Monday

Thanks grindle. I spent a couple of hours dead-heading the roses in the back garden, need to do the front garden next. Thought about tidying the pots in the greenhouse but decided against it as I didn't want to disturb the frog who has taken up residence in there (close your eyes if you don't like messy plantpots or frogs! ) :-

Thanks Eli. I should have just killed him off instead then sweetpea! All I did was water the hanging baskets & everything in the greenhouse & pick another cucumber, they're growing like mad now!

Thanks libralady, it was a good day at RHS Bridgewater, warm & sunny & more of the planting was out this time, they seem to have used a lot of similar plants to those I have in my garden so must have checked what grows well in this part of the world! Only watered the plants in the greenhouse & fed the wildlife yesterday, too wet to do anything else.

In between the showers I tidied a bit of the very neglected front garden. I took up lots of weeds and planted some Begonia semperflorens, and pruned an Euonymus and Jasminum nudiflorum which were trying to take the garden over.
