Good morning everyone . Thanks balc2 ...I certainly will  I'm celebrating a significant birthday today...where oh where do the years the years go!! I was made to feel my age yesterday ,I had a hospital app and came away with a date for a surprise knee replacement. . I really didn't think my knee was so bad.  |

Good morning everyone. jellibeans consider yourself lucky. Usually people have to wait until they are crippled before being able to have the operation. A yoga friend had a knee replacement and she looks really fit. |

Good morning all. Oh Cherry I really do appreciate my coming surgery.....and fortunate to be having it done in a lovely local private hospital as a NHS patient too....so local that it's just down our lane a short 10 min walk away!! I have been in agony with it though since before Covid....so much so that despite having surgery on it 2 years ago to try and ease things a bit by removing bone and the entire Meniscus it still remained bad. The Consultation was very surprised at just how bad it now was and that I was still walking daily on it....and refusing all pain relief......I really don't like taking any medication. I'm mainly looking forward to sleep again, something I've had very little of during the last 4-5 years. Fortunately I am a very determined person so I don't let pain and discomfort stop me ( mostly) and still go about my life as usual and also normally walk from 2 to 4 miles each day but , as I said to the Consultant... now at a much slower pace and at times needing to use my lovely hubs as support. But yes I was surprised to hear just how ' acute' the deterioration had become and consider myself lucky to only having to wait 6mths for the op...the surgeon must think I'm a deserving case and in great need I suppose . |

Thank you everyone for you good wishes, the celebrations will last all weekend as it was also our eldest's birthday last week and my hubs next week. Great fun is being had by all.....and cake! |
