The last couple of days, when I have tried to use the computer spell check, this message comes up.
Unable to connect to Google spelling servers. Please check your internet connection and try again.
Anyone else having the same problem?

Hi Tel, is this using Chrome? as Google have updated their spell check program. No its the normal google search engine. just googled it and there seems to be others having the same problem at the moment. Our computer was brand new 4 weeks ago, no problems with spell check until a couple of days ago.

I won't use spellcheck. I don't trust it.

I use Google search engine with Google Chrome and had problems, then got a message on screen stating that the spell had been updated and now all is well.

I won't use spellcheck. I don't trust it. Nor do I. My spelling is better than theirs any day of the week. These spell checks do not take context into account nor can they differentiate proper nouns. Take a word like 'Meet' for example. Spell it as mete, or meat in any context and as it is a correct spelling it will pass muster. It's a sad reflection on the state of our education system that there is a need for such a thing anyway.

The cold weather has affected plant growth and the likely effect will be late flowers or a poor crop. Would spellcheck sort this out? I am not sure.
