I grew 4 plants of stephanie outside Tel.I grew it 7 up,it looked a bit washed out to me but maybe that was with it being outside,it was'nt the biggest thing so 6 up would probaly be best, stems are good, centres open up quickly,Its never gonna challenge the dianes or festivals but could be one for multi vase exhibits.I personally won't be growing it again I think there is better about ,gordon hodgson as a one being released by halls next year called westerton southside that looks better to me.If you want a go with stephanie you are quite welcome to the tubers.more photo's are to follow.

ryecroft brenda t at last view of the uncovered area the day before the rain came a seedling I was trying out for gordon hodgson a mini dec westerton scallywag.I grew it 12 up but it was still to big,the centres on all but a few blooms were poor large green and took an age to close but I saw enough on the few blooms that had good centres to maybe give it another go next year. my bench banker ruskin michelle if only there had been a show to take them to, from the top ruskin michelle, joan walker, oakwood goldcrest I would have been lost without these varieties this year. the winning vase of large cactus at my society show, craigowen

Seeing your set up, DC certainly gifts me a lift, after the year i have had this year, with one thing and another. I think i will dismantle my wooden frame and rebuild it. Some of the main up rights are now rotting off. I have to get to Harrogate next year. I think you need a bit of competition in that Small Decs Championship lol ;D

Not a lot of room under the covers tel, 258 plants,I crammed as many in as possible when I knew I was not going to get the new garden covered .I will only be planting 180 in there next year 3 double rows of 30 and the new garden will be covered and fully planted with dahlias (no veg patch next year) 4 double rows of 30.That will be 420 covered and 24 poms outside.Would love to see you at harrogate Tel I will even buy the breakfast. That small dec chamionship class needs as many entrants as possible only 1 entry this year and only 2 last year.Brenda T let me down for an entry this year but I am gonna have some backup next year and grow 4 varieties I am thinking about winholme again.Brenda T was going on the heap 2 weeks ago but the blooms over the last 10 days have improved so I will put it down to the weather in june and july and grow it again.

Back to the blooms section. First one ready of Vals Candy.First time growing it, grown 7 up off side buds. Excellent form, well short on size though. I'm sure the bloom would have been a lot bigger if I'd let the crown bud flower. Once I've selected the best plants for next year( a couple of them are a bit ropey) we'll get them a lot better.
