I want to plant some freesia bulbs in containers. I don't know whether or not to just plant them in the containers alone or in combination with other flowers.
Would welcome any suggestions or what I could do and what I should avoid doing.

Avoid leaving them in the packet, that way you get nothing. never had much luck with freesias personally but I would stick 'em in anywhere they won't be swamped by neighbouring plants.

Mine are still in the packet so I had to laugh SP. I have used them once before and did not get results either. I might put them in a pot in the greenhouse this time and bring it out if there are any flowers.

I planted several pots of freesias last year.I put them in fairly close together. They didn't seem to mind being crowded..and they were great.

I planted up two pots of poundland sparaxis (or ixia) about 8 weeks ago .they are growing like my previous attempts at freesias..and they are just showing flower stalks now.I'll post a picture or two later.

DSCF0890 by smifter2012, on Flickr DSCF0887 by smifter2012, on Flickr these are either ixia or sparaxis from poundland..about 15 to 20 corms to a pot..the usual treatment I give to the freesias. They haven't been out of the greenhouse yet.Maybe they never will. One or two of the stems are starting to make flower stalks.

According to me freesia is a good looking flower plant, you can't grow them in packets. Indeed those plants are requires some pots, i have planted them in pot only, I got great result through it.
