OH thought she saw a LARGE spider running under the settee. She only caught a glimpse out the corner of her eye. Later I lifted it up and no spider, just a well fed mouse with a plentiful supply of munchies catfood. One of the cats must have brought it in and now it is eating their food. ironic or what, The big game hunt goes into operation later. Well 'little' game hunt might be more appropriate.

Oh how awful SP. This reminds me of an occasion years ago when my son put his wellies on and went out but felt something wriggling in the toe of one. This was when we had Killer Cat, and he had brought a mouse into the porch which escaped and had run into the wellie boot.

You should have called the cats in & shown it to them Sweetpea! ;D Millie knows where it is alright. probably her that brought it in in the first place. She can't get to the back of the sofa, not enough room. BTW another mouse, this one dead, out by the shed door today. Wanted to get one of those humane traps today but no luck. My usual method of catching mice using a milk bottle will have to be modified as no milk bottles any more. You put the bait, sweetpea seeds and/or cornflakes in the bottle set at an angle. The mouse goes in and can't get out again. Too slippery. take away and release. I know I know, I'm too soft hearted but live and let live I say,

You would not cope with the killing fields here. Possibly because I have coped with a lot worse in my time is why I am so aginst unnecessary killing now cherry. Having said that I would bring back a successor for Albert Pierrepoint to dispense justice to certain people.

When we had mice in the house years ago after next door took his pigeon loft down I got a couple of humane traps & baited them with dog biscuits & cereal & took the little devils down to the locks by the canal, they had a choice of woods, grass & buildings down there so they stood a fair chance!

My first father-in-law couldn't bear to kill the mice which were in a nest, so he took them in the car to let them go near a field and they escaped into the car. He never told my mother-in-law. He was a very humane person.
I sent my youngest daughter for bread at the bakers in Findhorn and she lost the £5 note. I was really cross, so Father took her to retrace her steps and find it and 'found' it stuck in a hedge. She knew and loved him to bits, like we all did.
The mice reminded me of this and many more instances of his wonderful kindness to people and animals.

You would not cope with the killing fields here. Same here Cherry, Tigger, the farm cat, had a young rabbit the other day, speaking of rabbits. One lolloped into our garden the other day, as i ran out to chase it away, i grabbed the sweeping brush...i have no idea what i was going to do with the brush but it seemed a good idea at the time ;D ;D

If you have a "small game hunt" sweetpea, be sure to use a "No 3" garden gun. Perfect for these occasions and driven cabbage white shooting. Should you decide to "brown" the poor little blighter you wont damage the carpet ;D
