I was wondering if it might be something to consider having a competition each month, second or third month (quarterly) perhaps spring, summer, autumn, and winter for a banner header for the site? Don't know whether this is a possibility? Just a thought This would be my submission for Summer

Though perhaps Dandelion seed heads would give out the wrong impression steve and Cherry Lol It is a good thought, but I would not want this because I would want the stability of using the same banner for a long while yet. It is something which has been carried over from the old forum. I am a bit sentimental and feel that this is something a much loved member left with us. Hopefully she will be back. I love your photo. Possibly we should consider using it for the season somewhere else.

It is a lovely photo but it might be a bit of a pain for admin as it took a few days to get our old banner back?

I think there may be a way of using it in the blue banner right at the top of the page without affecting Sue's lovely forum banner, I'll have a play tonight

If you can make it more sort of banner shaped it's a goer

I wouldn't dream of changing that as Cherry says, continuity is key there.

Even the narrow section of your photograph right at the top looks great SteveN.

Not sure about the competition bit though, some people are better photographers or have better equipment than others, I would prefer I think to just rotate it among pics sent in, if plenty then weekly or if it drops off then monthly...but being democratic I will as usual go with what the majority wants

That's a good idea steve. I'll try getting getting a banner proportioned picture anyway just to see how it goes. :-

I liked the one as you took it best because it was natural. I still like these two and could not choose between them. You and Steve go ahead and choose. I really like the idea of using that space with a beautiful seasonal photograph like you took and it is such a good idea SteveN and Steve. It need not be a competition. Good photographers can just submit something seasonal to Steve and he can put it to someone else if he wants to put a photograph in. Let's keep it casual and broaden it to include wildlife, or heather clad mountains. Anything seasonal.
