The GTs at the front of the house are on the point of fledging. I foiled a murder attempt on them without resorting to any violence The BTs fledged yesterday in the back garden (nest box fixed on greenhouse) Just watching the adults feed them now, they work incredibly hard!!!! They now have a fighting chance and it's very satisfying to see a bit of planning work out!!

Always a pleasure watching the birds in the garden and I include the magpies, and other members of the crow family. Our garden birds are becoming very tame or at least they don't always head for cover when I am around. They even tend to ignore the cats a lot of the time although I am sure they are still vry alert.

I think the BT's in one of my boxes must have fledged now, I've noticed the parents aren't going into the box any more. The blackbirds are nesting again in the Pyracantha on the back of the house and the parents are still feeding the young. I've had a couple of Jackdaws visiting the bird table recently, they don't stay long, just grab some food and off again. The nuthatches are regular visitors to the bird table but I don't think they are nesting in the garden.

I haven't seen any bluetit, great tit or coaltit young in the garden yet, we didn't have any nesting but often see them feeding in the garden. To be honest I think it's been a bad year for breeding here, no baby blackbirds spotted yet, only a few baby sparrows when we usually have lots & about 3 'local' starling families, we also have pairs of goldfinches who seem to be pottering about but not nesting anywhere.
