My oriental poppies burst int bloom a couple of days ago but never got round to taking a pic as the weather has been so dismal. Now with all the squally showers we've been having they are in danger of being battered down. Funnily enough on GW last night I noticed Monty Don had the same combination of OPs and Iris sibirica that I have. Do you think he has sneaked a peek at my garden some time back?

Nice one in parents garden just popped this morning. Is that a poppy? Forget my question. I just noticed that this thread is name oriental poppies. I like the poppies that look similar to roses.

No problem @privat Oriental Poppies can easily be distinguished by their large radially ribbed "pepperpot" ovary in the centre of the flower.

This flower is really lovely and looking nice. It is bigger than normal flowers. These kind of flowers increase the beauty of garden and whole garden looks great.
