My Bupleurum longifolium is almost in full colour now (probably two or three days to colour up fully to a warm terracotta. Getting better and better each year. You can see that it's quite closely related to Astrantia.

That is unusual SteveN. Although it looks like Astrantia, is it actually related? I tried to grow that from seed but without success. I will blame the two hard winters again.

Yes, lovely plant Cherry and yes, it is a close relative. I'll post some more pictures here when it becomes even more showy. I suspect this is a plant from the strain of B. longifolium called 'Copper Beauty'.

In that case, it would be better sown from fresh seed in two or three months time, so Fractal you know what the next question will be.

I certainly do Cherry I'll keep you in mind when seed is set. Mum often has seedlings around her established large plants so you may even get one or two of those too.

I wonder why, 'LONGiflorum' I know in Lilium longiflorum it refers to the long trumpet but here is it the length of time.
