My earlies are about 4ft tall now and on one you can already see a small flower bud at the top of one of the branches. Is this exceptionally early or do the buds take forever to mature? I was under the impression chrysanths only start flowering when the nights start to stretch out a bit. Just curious as I've never grown chrysanths before. Thanks.

It is a little bit early, matt, but not by much as you would normally expect to see buds in early July.
