just to explain my occasional absence and/or not replying to questions. My PC keeps freezing up so much so that it is in great danger of being flung out the window. I have tried all the usual tricks to fix it but I spend more time using ALT Ctrl Del than I do with anything else. Anyway if you hear a loud noise it is just my PC landing in a skip from a very great height!

sweetpea, my laptop was doing that so often after the forum changed to V5 that I now use Mozilla Firefox as my browser instead of Internet Explorer. Bingo - no more freezing. Which browser are you using?

Which browser are you using? IE geranium. I used to use firefox and have tried opera in the past too but I think I will try firefox again and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion. Might save a broken window

Well I have now changed to firefox and lost all my bookmarks. Oh well more searching I suppose. Sorry, sweetpea. I tend to have both open - and just use Firefox for Proboards. My 'favourites' are all on IE, so it means a bit of shrinking (to get to tinypic) but at least I don't get the freezing, which is a great blessing.

Got my more important bookmarks back now. The difference is amazing, no freezing up and the speed is much improved. I'm now officially a happy bunny. just hope I haven't spoke too soon.

Is that on Firefox, sweetpea? For some unknown techie reason, Proboards seems to prefer it to IE.

Strange, isn't it, but I agree. It saves all the frustration of the freezing.

I tend to switch between IE and Chrome if one is playing up but it's good to know Firefox works ok if I need to swop to another

Not as far as a Mills bomb, but still a good distance

If I ever build a trebuchet, the computer upstairs is the first thing to be launched. It cost quite a pretty packet, but always has a problem.
