Can some body help there's something wrong with my tomatoes each one we've cut has this white ring going round it, I grew them from seed's. I also brought a Shirley plant to go with them but this one's the same to. I'm not sure whether we should be eating them or not, by the way there grown in the greenhouse in 10" pots.

They look very similar to the tomatoes we get from the supermarket for cooking rather than raw in salad. I do not like them cut and fried which sometimes happens here but when cooked as part of a curry dish which I do on Saturday nights they are ok. I have never seen this with any of the varieties I have grown over the years. Sorry its not much help Lesley

Your later tomatoes should be ok, it is caused by hot weather we have had during July.
