I'm in absolute AWE of the amount of time, energy and dedication you lot put into your gardening.
I struggle just to keep a few plantpots on the go.
Your construction of your allotment is an inspiration to us all, Daitheplant.

Thank you for that. With me, gardening is not just a hobby, it is also my job and my reason for being on this planet.

I did manage to take another three bags of used compost up the site in the rain. Hope to get first terrace finished this week, 8-|then I have to talk nice to the secretary for permission to put up a polytunnel.

Not working today so it was off to the plot. Another plot holder has given me permission to take soil from his 2 plots for my big terrace, so spent an hour shifting some. Had an audience also. Then I increased the size of the terrace where my polytunnel will be sited and also cut out a path to the shed. Took my garlic and shallot sets up ready for planting.

Is the plot where the chooks are on the same site as yours daitheplant? It is well protected with the houses all around. The chooks look happy and healthy.

They are Cherry, they belong to the secretary and her husband. Thankfully their plot is at the TOP of the site, whereas mine is at the bottom of a steep slope. So glad they aren`t the other way around.

I was actually thinking about drainage daitheplant bearing in mind your very wet climate.

My plot gets a lot of run off water from other plots Cherry, so I am putting in a soakaway in front of the shed door.

Not working today, so up the plot to level the ground ready for the polytunnel. After 3 hours and the removal of about 2 tons of soil, the site was level. Just want the tunnel now.
