Since Maureen had her 'Accident' I have got one of these car cams that you stick on the windscreen and it records everything on the road as you go along. They really are brilliant and now that I have worked out how to work it (well nearly) I record everywhere I drive to. Play it back on the computer later. They can take still pics as well as video and you can have sound too if you want plus a motion senspor and night vision. All I have to do is figure out how to delete all my journeys but it does hold a lot. I think having one on the rear windscreen would allow you to report dangerous tailgating if you chose as you would have the proof to back it up. Anyone else here got one?

We have a car cam sweetpea, it's fab. Graham uses it every day. He bought a really good quality sd card to put in it too, He connects it up to the pc and a dialogue box comes up so you can choose to view what footage you have and delete what you don't want.

I saw one advertised the other day & thought they're a good idea like the ones cyclists wear on their helmets, useful probably for insurance claims etc. We don't have one though as I don't drive & the O.H. probably wouldn't want to be reminded how he drives!

I've never heard of a 'car cam'. What is it for apart from interest?

New to me too, but a very good idea. It might not be so necessary in rural areas. Perhaps this last comment is wrong.)

It's very handy if you are in a crash or you see some bampot driving like an idiot. Believe me Cherry it's most useful in rural areas!! We contacted the police about one driver we caught on the cam, we must have been doing a 100 coming up to a bend in the road.

I must investigate these, never having come across the idea before. We get plenty of lunatics driving far too fast in our narrow lanes!

I had two youngsters on their motorbikes with L plates in front of me last week. They were doing all sorts of crazy driving and I thought if one or both come off it will be all on camera for the coroner.
