I am thinking of building my own polytunnel on the allotment. Will have to price up second hand scaffolding posts plus 50mm blue water pipe and secondhand wood. the size will be approx. 22ft x 16ft I found this idea of building your own on the net. Then there will be a few alterations of my own.

If anyone could do it you could Tel. It would be a super project for late winter/early spring.

I've just got to tell you about a youtube I see, it was a man called Rick and he took on a allotment but soon he made a polytunnel but he put it up on his own, except for the plastic sheeting. To look at it go to youtube, then type in rickvanman and look for allotment. I may not be the first clip but think it is about the 3rd one. I was hooked on all his video's over 50 of them and I have not got a allotment now. He also made some mistakes as the scaffold polls was to thick for the pipe but he got round this. Reg PS. Just had a look at youtube, it is just after allotment 19, there is 2 parts. Please do not ask me to give a link, I have tried, but worth a look at if you have 2 or 3 nights spare. PPS. he has his allotment nr, Burbage in Wiltshire, well 25 min's drive.
