Dahlias 2014 Season

@markymate this is the provisional list. All subject to change :)Some coming as plants and cuttings from my society and being bought in also some very kind offers from forum members.

Sitting down with Dave spencer and Andrew aspital next week to go through it and more than likely edit it back. 

Started clearing bottom back of garden and there is room for a greenhouse and potting shed  but landlord would have to buy it.

It is a big garden for London 120 feet long in back by 45wide. Split into 2 halfs really. 

Front garden display 40 x 30.
Back top border and patio mixed planting and the begonias as part shade. Begonias are all in pots or some border ones only for my pleasure not for showing.

Cutting back on annuals for next year to spend much more time on the dahlias. I also watered all by hand so installing irrigation so that will help. 

bottom part dahlias and roses as full Sun. 

Landlord is happy for me to do it. He makes some stupid decisions he put a bramleys seedling in the middle of the main dahlia border !!! That will be moved shortly. 

Probably going to cut back at least one to two classes in the end.

Main focus on the sml and min cactus/semi cactus and the min Dec and ball. May drop winholme Diane and hillcrest candy I won't be doing the volumes of numbers of say tel or Ian etc... as my showing season is only 2 weeks with really only one show a priority. 

With display using it in groups of three to five plants of same cultivar to try and help with my timings etc... Also impact in the garden.They will be a back up variety and we shall see if I get a single vase from any of it. 

Most of one variety I am doing is 8 plants. The pom only 4 plants again this is subject to change.  The min cactus 5 to 6 of each. Lots of singles in the front to indulge me 

The front lawn and back lawn being made smaller. 

Let's see what happens. Might fall flat on my face  Happy to do the work. Even if only growing for display work is just as much to do it properly. That my opinion anyway.

Hi diggie they are members at Kent dahlia society also Darren Everest. You should join. They have all been lovely they are always looking for new members.

I like your list . I am going to cut mine back. Doing to much I think. Less is more they say. We shall see what evolves.
