What did I tell you on Thursday Tel, "your going to do great". Well you exceeded great, you went straight to magnificent . Now having the experience of walking round with the judges, I can really appreciate how difficult it is to get a third, let alone a First. I'm well made up for you Tel. I was with Darren Everest(youtube and NDS fame), when he found out that he had got a first for his Waterlilys, that grin was going to be stuck on his face for days to come . The wonderment of the Dahlia!!!! Going to see how Candyblue gets on at Letchworth today, but when I get back, I'll try and put my video on the forum. Once again Tel, it was a great pleasure to meet you, and b****y well done mate.... What a wonderful post coming from the other side of the judging. Now we shall wait for results from candyblue and scrumpy

Great videos @markymate. They show us how many vases were there. It must have been difficult to pick winners out of exhibits of this high standard. Hey, that is a good first effort with the video recorder.

Just back from the Letchworth show, was really good to catch up with candyblue and Rob, who where showing. Lovely blooms on show and they done very well. Well done to Garden Friends who've been showing over the weekend . Tel, even superstars have to do the bread and butter stuff . Good luck tomorrow. Had a long chat with Sion from Station House about waterlilys, really interesting, and certainly opened my eyes to this variety, so, having order Gwyneth, I might order 1 more to go with it. So many great people at Harrogate

I saw Tel's good news on Facebook (well done again Tel, they all look perfect to me!) & came on here to check out the photos & videos, it seems we've got the superstars of the dahlia world all here on the forum!

Fantastic candyblue. Shame the photos weren't quite up to the dahlia, but could see the important parts of each pic.

So this is the Wrekin and District Horticultural society show. Seeing them in proper light they weren't to bad. I would say a few of the vases ( The Zoes ) were better than entries at Shrewsbury and Southport. Anyway, out of the 8 individual classes I got 7 firsts and 1 second. And I won the championship class. The Championship, Bonaventure, Ryecroft Jan, Clearview Louise and Zoe Sport 3 vases of 3 Two Zoe sport, Ruskin Andrea small decs Brenda T Small Cactus Ryecroft Zoe, Best in Show ( I straightend the left hand bloom later as it had slipped a bit ) Small Ball Blyton Softer Gleam Miniasture Ball Mary's Jomanda Medium Cactus Moonlight sport Single Giant Bonaventure Miniatures Barbarry Pip 2nd
