We managed entries in 3 of the 4 children's classes. A major result for the family. Let you know how they did later.

Pirate Yellow Wellies' Easter Cupcakes
Pirate Yellow Wellies came 1st. Fairy Pink Wellies' Easter cupcakes might not have been placed but she really enjoyed eating them (n.b. She didn't eat all 4 of them).

Why do I always get the urge to go out and garden when it is absolutely hammering down outside?

It's a beautiful day out there but I am torn, so I'm getting no where fast. Well pretty much stationary. Girls want to go outside and water their potatoes. So I guess that would be a start, bet there is a delivery for me when I'm out in the garden.
The Jomanda tuber at my Dad's is ready to have it's 1st cutting taken and he is going to start planting his dahlia seeds.
The Blue Bayou I got him a couple of weeks ago is doing well. He is very happy with it. He is not very happy with his Clearview Misty and Tammy because it looks like yet another year with nothing growing. Very frustrated.
I'm just disappointed for him. He wanted to try these new exciting varieties but the tubers are letting him down. I don't agree with chopping tubers up into little bits but then my Jomanda that he has growing was a little bit he pulled off my Jomanda tuber and then there is my little bit that fell off my Weston Flamingo, that's growing and there doesn't seem to be anything happening with the main tuber...
Random witterings over for now.

Dad's update on Clearview tubers: Edie & tammy nothing and highly unlikely to do anything. Audrey signs of life and my tubers Candy Jayne & Jenny which of the batch showed most signs of life, have not changed at all.
Nothing happening with Weston Miss either. It was ok but if it is going to be a dodo then I won't replace it.

A live and well. How they doing now Tel?Downham Royal, just two cuttings on the heated bench, all been well they should be ok for potting up next weekend. Clearview Edie, I would give it time yet, mine is slow too but it is alive, so hopeful we will get cuttings eventually. Still waiting for two dahlia deliveries this month, from two suppliers.

After all, just because you don't like a dahlia, it doesn't necessarily follow that it is a rubbish dahlia. As you know your Edie is a lot better than ours. Me to - re. waiting for plants. I am sure that as soon as I go out they will arrive. all round and lots of
