Finished planting my seedlings Eastwood Moonlight - 4 and Weston Spanish Dancer 2. Made me feel better, needed cheering up. Didn't have a fab start to the day but HH is coming home for lunch and my Dad will be around later. So that and the seedlings has cheered me up.
In the big scheme of things because I don't have that many and are mobile*, i.e. I can pick them up, move them and have a good look at them all together. (*Hand on heart none of them have access to a mobiliity scooter and none have any triffid in their dna - well to the best of my knowledge)
...because I am able to have a good look at them it is very interesting their shapes and colours. I've got some dark stems - fingers crossed I've got a good one.
I need a drink.

Lots of discussion at dinner time because I told my family that I've named all my (seedling) dahlias.
Told them that they had to guess.
Took ages but then out of the blue HH muttered X and I was ahhhhhh He has thought of something better than me. Typical, on and off I spent ages mulling over prefixes HH mutters X and it's grrr, his is so much better than my vague ideas.
Anyway took ages them guessing.
At the moment my Dad's seedlings have numbers. He doesn't name dahlias after people that he knows, in case it turns out to be a rubbish one.
p.s. When I say that I have names, they are a bit more personal than seedling 3, seedling 9 etc.
I've been thinking of doing some form of dahlia beauty pageant and family tree.
Officially mad. I know but more than a tad tongue in cheek.
p.p.s. bet you can't guess their names.
n.b. Not named after me, my family or my Dad, Mum or Sister or have Moonlight or anything that my Dad has used in the past...

Prefix not mentioning.
I've just written out some longer labels, need to buy another 9.
Taken my 1st family shot.
Rather than draw this out, 4 letters. Not the prefix, the name name.

We didn't kill the potatoes!
Pirates.
Fairies.
Got some smashing photos of them looking at them as they were sorting them out but don't want to their faces on here but it was great. No placing contraversy this year. Not placed.
We just didn't kill them!!!

Way, way, way, way behind on my photos.
Spent time yesterday morning round my Dad's looking at his dahlias and trying to work out what I should be doing or at least make what I have done so far at least a little better.
