My Diary has become very dahlia dominated but once things have settled I'll be able to do a proper update round up.
It's all quite strange, I had a very narrow minded this time last year -semi cactus or ball tunnel vision but then I ended up growing poms and Happy Halloween it was the colour that attracted me to it.
I was adamant not to even look at the Decs and now I'm growing some. I promised the girls that they could grow a 'real' dahlia each next year and I was very happy because the ones that we went for are both decs and I don't 'do' decs so that was ok, both decs but different sizes so they won't need to be competing with each other or me. Unfortunately I've succumbed to the 'dec'side. ( )
Oops.
Really need to dig out the show schedule from last as I want to see the different classes.
Humming and harrring whether or not best to go with mini plants or pot grown.

I think that I have just been called 'sad'.
HH & I are like science fiction and there has just started a new series of the tomorrow people. Couldn't remember actually watching it before but we watched the 1st episode last night and so HH gave me a link to the first episode of the old series.The Tomorrow People-The Slaves Of Jedikiah-1of 8 Wonder if anyone else can see what I saw.I spy with my little eye something beginning with ......?
(I'll explain later.)
(nb trust me, it makes sense but if I'm wrong then I'll just look silly)

Went to the horticultural society shop yesterday and we were running late but we got there with about 5 minutes to go. I had had a phone call on Wednesday last week saying that my trophy had been engraved and that I could go and collect it. The shop is run by volunteers and unfortunately the people there didn't know where the trophy was. It wasn't a wasted trip mind because the girls collected their potatoes and packet of sunflower seeds. We have a few eyes already:-) in addition to the 2 on our faces. I asked when to start growing the sunflower seeds as last year we didn't grow them until it was too late. Some of the other children's were enormous. I was told end of next month.
I am going to type of the children's classes. Fun, fun, fun!

After spending ages trying to work out which dahlias to order and where, I looked up Ryecroft Zoe and Station said it is 6 foot, checked on Halls and they said 1.2m which leaves me with a problem. Can I risk another tall dahlia?

Bad enough me confessing my sins here, without entertaining an audience with my madness. I can't drive and there isn't an easy bus route there. Worst than that there isn't a toilet there. Besides my husband would divorce me if I even considered it. Seriously though, I like having a garden. Just wish it was less overgrown. This year there is no Novice classes so I shouldn't be so distracted this year which would be good for me. Bread and butter stuff. Better sense of priorities with the garden as a whole not just my dahlias.
Well that's my current theory, if the wind changed direction I might have a new idea (but even if I did it wouldn't be an allotment).
