When you are ready to start showing at the National like your dad, then you will have to join the NDS. Nah - can't see that ever happening.

Absolutely right. Give your husband something else to be proud of ML and join. You're good. Nah, just lucky. I've got my Dad, I've got guys (oops sounding a bit gushy) and I had a lot of luck last year.

Onwards and upwards, I have only one regret about growing dahlia's for a hobby. I should have started growing them 20 years earlier.

Dad used to judge at Harrogate but ended up exhibiting there as well because if he was going to go all the way up there anyway it made sense to take some dahlias himself. He used to share a van (I think it was a luton but don't quote me on that) (Don't quote anyway) with Peter Cleaver and they used to take turns driving.
I was as a child dead proud of my Dad being a judge and him winning trophies. Dahlias were and are now, his passion but now even if he had a real cracker of a potential champion he wouldn't exhibit in a national but he would at county level.

No Eastwood Star this year. Dad had already put in his order (I didn't think he had yet) and I can't really justify £8.30 Delivery charge for a £2.15 rooted cutting.
Dad has ordered Majestic Athalie himself, so either this year or next I can grow one.
Oh well, 1 out of 2 varieties is better than none but I can't justify the cost no matter who raised the variety.
Hay Hoe.
Why do you see this variety as so special, I know it was raised in the same year as Eastwood Moonlight.
