This is the quiz I made up to send to the people who take part in the Salford Garden bird survey. People can send me the answers along with the survey with a chance of winning a prize but I thought you might want to have a go at it. N..P..A..N..T..T..E..G..N..H..G E..H..S..T..O..R..P..A..I..T..I H..E..A..K..N..E..E..L..E..R..N
R..O..R..A..L..L..L..O..V..M..Y
M..O..K..V..E..N..P..N..I..E..A
W..O..W..A..D..N..A..S..L..R..J
L..L..O..R..E..G..A..R..D..R..F
A..D..O..P..R..N..N..A..L..U..F
W..P..A..U..L..E..E..R..L..A..M
S..E..C..N..I..T..H..O..S..K..G
R..C..S..G..L..W..O..N..N..U..N
E..K..P..C..S..I..S..K..I..A..I
K..C..A..A..P..E..R..C..A..W..W
C..A..L..B..E..I..L..L..I..A..X Begin with the letter G in the middle of the seventh line , make the name of a bird by moving one square at a time in any direction (not diagonal). The name of the next bird begins with any of the three letters next to the end of the last one. Carry on this way until all the squares are used. Each square is used only once and there are 24 birds altogether.

I'm afraid the vertical columns haven't printed in straight lines but I hope you can still work it out. I thought that if I put 2 dots between each letter it would work out O.K. The winner of these quizzes in the past won a bird feeder (Sue won one a few years ago). I made the suggestion that anyone interested enough in birds to do the survey probably already has feeders. We are therefore going to wait to see who wins and ask them if they want a feeder. If not they can have some bags of seed or nuts to fill their feeders with.

I've had a go at photographing my copy for you Derek so it's easier to follow, I rubbed out all the pencil lines where I'd had a go at it! If you want to have a go you'll be better printing it off or you'll get lost, I haven't managed it yet, I got all the birds but not in the right order as I came to a dead end!
