emma1412 tell us what you want to grow and we will get you started. If you have not dug a position yet, you must work out where it will be. Start by getting cheap strawberries which are about at present. Rosie managed to get some for the price of the postage only a week ago. She may be able to help. It is a perfect time for planting redcurrants, blackcurrants and gooseberries. I think all these are the easiest crops. Other forum members will add to this.

garden-friends.co.uk/thread/2896/flowers-foliage-december?page=1It could be a little early for herbs and this is the most common one. The children could do this easily in a few weeks. Plants of thyme, etc. will interest them for their spaghetti sauce and lasagne. (Mmm. Not much time for lasagne unless you are fast in the kitchen.) People on the forum are often advising on bargains at Wilkinsons and Morrisons. Have a look at the 'Seed Taters' thread. Rocket potato is advised and there is the price and reason from very experienced gardeners.
