I joined it & agree there are lots of lovely images on there ladybird especially beautiful gardens but I don't bother with it much as I found it a bit confusing setting up boards & searching for things & it got a bit time consuming.

I found it confusing at the start, i now have to pinterest button on my google toolbar so if I`m roving the net and see somthing I want to keep like a picture or instructions I just click the button and save the page for easy access later . I have loads of sections in mine , sewing , embroidery, craft, gardening , gardening diy , cooking , baking , bookbinding, watercolour painting and you cam roam about pinterest and pin anything someone else has pinned or follow someones entire pinterest or just the section you are interested in. and if you want to store stuff and not let anyone else see it you can have several secret sections . i just love it to bits.

I had a look but couldn't find anything about privacy etc. I'm suspicious of anything like that. I would like to join it, but not unless I can find out some more.

I can`t see that anyone has acess to my personal details, to me it`s just like saving a site to favorites but with a picture. within pinterest you can type in a search and browse like you would in google, load of pictures come up of what others have pined in that subject and you can either repin it to yours or click on it to go to that site , or you can sent a pin to a friend who is also on pinterest . I follow some others users who have great pins in a certain area and then anything else they pin to that I get a "feed " picture of it and decide if I want to pin it to my lot or not. warning ,it can become a bit obsessive . you don`t have to use your own name like this forum .
I suppose it`s all about having collections . At the minute I`m browsing the net for garden seating and pin all the pictures and sites showing how to make wooden benches for the garden to my garden diy section so i have quick access to them all later .
However Hywel , it`s alway a good thing to be cautious, I don`t know what the site owners do with my info? I havn`t had any additional phone calls or spams though .

I enjoy Pinterest very much - I use it mainly for craft ideas and inspiration for art I'm working on. It does have some good ideas for gardening in small spaces (like me) and for container gardening, I liked the idea of using an old wooden pallet as a raised bed.
I'm pretty careful about privacy settings too Hywel (my husband is a bit of an internet security freak!) and unless you're posting lots of personal pictures, I don't think it's really a problem. You just basically use it to store all the nice things you find around the web!

I use it too. It's great when you are browsing something on the internet and you can just pin it to any one of your folders. I suppose it's like an online scrap book really.
