When is the earliest time I can sow beans (climbing and French)? I sow mine in pots in the greenhouse towards the end of April, both runner and French then I plant them out when the danger of frost is past, I sow direct into the ground during June and July.

Thanks Tel. I felt sure the gardening magazine was wrong. They suggest sowing now.

Thanks Tel. I felt sure the gardening magazine was wrong. They suggest sowing now. If you have a frost free greenhouse, you could grow French beans in 6in pots, for a early crop. If you had the room of course.

My greenhouse is not reliably frost free. I will wait.
