Today i've noticed that my grevillea has died back in the past week What on earth can have had such a massive impact in 7 days The fuschia i bought at the Rare Plant Fair has died, that was sold as hardy too On a slightly different note - something is stripping the large evergreen leaves from my evergreen honeysuckle.Lonicera henryi 'Copper Beauty' is struggling to keep clothed at the moment I think i'll have to put fine wire mesh around the obelisk it's (trying) to grow up. Do you have muntjac deer in your area Louise? They will eat anything

No, nothing like It has to be either birds or mice - either way i'm getting crosser by the day now They're large leaves though - the size of a finches body, so goodness knows what's doing it

My fuschia looks dead too, Louise - but they may not be, they could well sprout from the base or from the twiggy bits. Wait and see. I don't think this'll sprout new growth - i'll be very very surprised if it does.

I have a couple of evergreens which are shedding leaves like rain now the weather has warmed up. I'm hoping they will grow new ones.

Very annoying - as it'll be if our fuchsias don't revive!

Could it be some sort of fungal disease? What a puzzle The leaves are in pristine condition in every way and are dropped underneath the plant but i presume wind blows them around the garden then because i'm finding them all over The b****y stems are almost naked now I know birds strip leaves because i have had buddleias in most my gardens and some were stripped horribly by small birds These leaves are so large though that i'll be surprised if a small one did it - i'm wondering if magpies would do it ? I dislike magpies at the best of times and this won't do them any favours, if it is them

Oh dear.... Last year I lost a tree fern...practically a family member, had him for 6 years...sob. This year the list is a little more extensive (and still being added to ) phormium pink stripe gunnera manicata all my dahlia tubers (despite careful drying and storing in a dark shed) a small colocasia lobelia tupa all the above, apart from the dahlias, were in a nice clean GH... The jury is still out on another tree fern, tetrapanax papyfer, 2 musa basjoo (all double wrapped and packed with straw) and some dahlias that I risked leaving in the ground. Not sure about owt else, got to wait to see what comes up and what doesn't.

Sorry to hear that cpb (you don't come across as a "pea brain" can I call you Cherry ? It's bad enough losing any plant but when it's "practically a family member", it's even worse. Maybe those left in the garden will surprise you, let's hope so. I wonder it when we put them in pots in the Gh, the frost gets to freeze so much more of it as it hasn't the earth around it. Fingers crossed.

Thanks Merlin...I'm being reasonably philosophical about it all..and it does make space for more plants...

Can't be sure yet but I think I've lost two T Roses. I don't want any more winters like it again.
