I had to pull a lot of dead leaves off my Astelia yesterday - I'm hoping it might recover, but it looks really tatty. I still haven't decided what to do about Phormium 'Platt's Black' - but it looks awful and I think it might have to go.

I must admit it was going to give both my phormiums a chance, but when I cut the dead of the big one, there's no way it's going to grow back, as for the little one it's just plain dead

Do you know - I think/suspect that my Cortaderia might be a goner! It isn't the same colour as it usually is.

I don't seem to have lost anything.....so far apart from a couple of fuschias that were new last year and supposed to be hardy

My Daphnes are all fine and even the Edgeworthia looks OK, yet tougher plants have died. Microclimate and position must come into the equation when considering winter losses.
