Not sure what the first one is ladybird but the second one looks like white campion, silene latifolia.

Thankyou sueA, I looked it up and that is correct , it must have blown in on the wind being a common wild flower, a pretty one at that . I`ll have a go at saving the seed if there is any . no luck with the other one , I have been through all the seeds I have sown in the past two years and can`t place this so I will just have to let it grow and see what happens

Ah! I googled weed with large leaf and spines and up came teasel www.robsplants.com/plants/DipsaFullo I was given a couple of plants last year. not sure if I should keep this one but the leaves are rather nice would it be an invasive problem do you think ?

It will seed itself, ladybird, but on the other hand, goldfinches love the seedheads!
