Thanks Dai. They seem to be remaindered books, but all opposition to Amazon is good.

When too many are printed, they are sold off cheap at some outlets. There is nothing wrong with them and some are good books.

I go with their 3 for £5 offer. A lot of them are by top authors and are well worth the money.

I am now reading "The Abominable" by Dan Simmons. Anyone into mountaineering or climbing, would probably enjoy it.

I had T&M`s catalogue today, have binned it as I buy their seeds from the local garden centre anyway. They are half price there at the mo anyway.

Been reading the 'Traders' series by Anna Jacobs. Quite interesting about Victorian immigration to Australia, if a bit overly fluffy. But it's nice to read something that doesn't resolutely torture the characters all the way through.

I'm on Harry Potter 7 now, and after that I must read something more erudite. I'm enjoying the series, but one foible of J.K. Rowling's is to make every character say 'Yeah' instead of 'Yes' and it gets irritating.

I am reading 'With No One as Witness' by Elizabeth George. It is quite long and a very thorough investigation into serial killers. It keeps me going because the author writes well.
I am noticing that in interviews on radio, interviewees are beginning their spiels with 'So'. This seems to be a new habit creeping in. Very annoying.
