Ever since I was a boy I have loved books and reading. At the moment I am reading ( again ) The Egypt Code by Robert Bauval. What is everyone else reading? Tel, Playboy doesn`t count.

I've not had much time to read recently but have been reading 'Why be happy when you can be normal' by Jeanette Winterson as it's her autobiography on which her novel 'Oranges are not the only fruit' was based, probably not to everyone's taste but interesting. I'm also dipping into 2 volumes of a book 'Two towns go to war' by a couple of local historians which is about all the people around here who served in the Second World War. It's got a few little quotes & stories & photos in of my late mum-in-law, sad that she never got to read the finished publication.

"Oranges are not the only fruit " is an alternative side of life. A good story. Don`t know "Two Towns` " though. Will look out for it.

What a mix. I am a big fan of Wilbur Smith, he is a great story teller.

I am waiting to pick up my new library books, so I'm reading a copy Gardening News I got today from Tesco, I've never bought it before. Has some nice photos and reminded me I need to take some softwood cuttings.
Just finished Annie Groves 'When the Lights go on Again' and I had a stab at 'The Hunger Games' series as I thought I ought to find out what the hype was about, but it's not my cuppa. First book was OK, the rest... bleh.

I read the telephone directory occasionally. Always handy when you don't know a number or you want to do a bit of name dropping

Just an update on what I am reading. If you are at all interested in Sci Fi this will appeal. I first read all the series back in the '70s and thought it was about time to read them again and only the last book to go now. If you can't make out from the pic it is E E Doc Smith's classic Lensman series

If I remember rightly sweetpea, I read a couple them in the 70`s too. I also liked the Edge series of westerns, out of print now though I believe.
